Slovak Conservative Parties Discuss Forming Joint Pre‑Election Bloc

Leaders of two Slovak conservative parties, Igor Matovič of Hnutie Slovensko and Milan Majerský of KDH, said they do not rule out a joint pre‑election conservative bloc, though they have not committed to it. The idea, originally promoted by former minister Milan Krajniak, envisions a coalition that could also include Za ľudí and possibly the Hungarian Alliance. Krajniak, now head of the small Christian Union, emphasized the need for a unified conservative front during a debate at the Bratislavské Hanusove dni forum, which regularly gathers both conservative and liberal figures. Discussions also featured leaders from Smer, the Hungarian Alliance and other parties, but no final agreement was reached.
