Slovak cultural and educational celebrations held in Serbia and Slovakia

Cultural events highlighting Slovak traditions and education took place recently in Serbia and Slovakia. In Bački Petrovac, Serbia, the Meeting of Slovak Lowland Teachers 2026 was held at the Matica slovenská house. Organized by the Educational Commission of Matica slovenská in Serbia, the event focused on the theme "The Creative Teacher in the Modern School." Several educators were recognized for their achievements in education and the promotion of the Slovak language and culture.

In Slovakia, the 30th anniversary of the Goral Folklore Festivals concluded in Bachledka. The festivities featured folklore groups from both Slovakia and Poland, focusing on the traditions of the Ždiar region. The event included traditional music, dance, folk crafts, and a woodcarving symposium, aiming to preserve regional heritage through performances and community activities.
