Slovak Government allocates millions for regional development and Matica slovenská
During a mobile meeting in Dubové, the Slovak government approved over 2.3 million euros to support the development of the Turiec, Orava, and northern Slovakia regions. Approximately 1.58 million euros of this funding is earmarked for specific projects in the districts of Martin, Turčianske Teplice, and Dolný Kubín, targeting improvements in transportation, healthcare, social services, culture, and tourism.
Specific allocations include 70,000 euros for the University Hospital Martin to purchase diagnostic equipment, 71,000 euros for the reconstruction of beds at the Turčianske Teplice spa, and 100,000 euros for a pedestrian and cycle path in Martin. Additionally, 65,000 euros will be directed to the municipality of Pribiš for local infrastructure.
Furthermore, the government facilitated support for Matica slovenská and the Neografia printing house through MH Invest. The state will use 7.1 million euros from state financial assets to purchase administrative and warehouse properties via MH Invest. Prime Minister Robert Fico clarified that this is not a loan or a subsidy, but a purchase of valuable real estate that the state will own, with some spaces intended for use by the Ministry of Interior for archival purposes.
