Slovak Government Faces Criticism Over Recovery‑Plan Delays and Growth Package

Opposition lawmakers say the Slovak government missed the deadline to submit zoning plans for national parks, risking the suspension of €453 million from the EU Recovery Plan. Tamara Stohlová warned that the delay could jeopardise almost €500 million needed for regional development and water‑resource protection, and criticised proposals that favour developers and lack proper studies.

At the same time, the vice‑president of the Republic Employers' Union, Jozef Špirko, expressed that foreign firms no longer view Slovakia as an attractive investment destination. He dismissed the government's newly presented growth measures as an “antibyrokratic package” that will not improve the business environment or revive the economy, and highlighted the lack of communication with employers during their preparation.
