Slovak Health Minister Kamil Šaško announces €40 million reclaimed and July rollout of e‑recording system

Minister of Health Kamil Šaško said the ministry has systematically applied the statutory “vyrovnávací rozdiel” under § 98i of law 363/2011, returning more than €40 million to health‑insurance funds in a single year. He noted, “Za jediný rok sme rozhodli o návrate viac ako 40 miliónov eur … každé euro, ktoré sa vráti zdravotným poisťovniam, môže byť použité na zdravotnú starostlivosť pre pacientov.” The measure also prevented the statute of limitations from extinguishing dozens of pending claims and saved roughly 30 proceedings from lapse, addressing shortcomings highlighted in recent audit reports.

The ministry is also moving ahead with the eZapisovanie programme, a new phase of electronic health‑record entry. Šaško urged doctors to use July to verify that their electronic health‑worker cards (ePZP) and IT systems function correctly, stating, “Nenechajte to na poslednú chvíľu – júl je práve na to, aby si každý so svojím dodávateľom systému overil, že všetko funguje.” The system links care records with insurer reporting, aiming to improve coordination, data quality and patient access to their own medical information.
