Slovak Hockey Hall of Fame to Induct Craig Ramsay and Michal Handzuš in 2026

The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation (SZĽH) announced that its Hall of Fame will expand in 2026 to include two prominent figures. Former head coach Craig Ramsay, the Canadian who led the Slovak national team from 2017 to 2025, and former forward Michal Handzuš, a three‑time World Championship medalist and Stanley Cup winner, will be honoured. Their induction will take place at the "Hockey Player of the Year" gala on 13 August in Košice. The nomination was approved by the Hall’s committee chaired by SZĽH president Miroslav Šatan, who said, "Craig Ramsay and Michal Handzuš are great personalities of Slovak hockey." Ramsay’s tenure included the team’s Olympic medal, six World Championship appearances and a record 90 victories in 158 games. Handzuš, who began as Ramsay’s assistant, added three world‑championship medals and a Stanley Cup to his résumé.
