Slovak Intelligence Service to cut public reporting after Progressive Party oversight

Progressive Slovakia MPs Zuzana Števulová and Jaroslav Spišiak carried out a parliamentary control of the Slovak Information Service (SIS). They reported that the agency’s annual activity report will change format, becoming “informationally poorer” and that SIS will publish fewer details about the security situation and its own work. Števulová warned, “I think this will further erode the Slovak public’s trust in SIS,” adding that citizens have the right to at least basic information on the agency’s activities.

Security expert Peter Bátor linked the issue to broader concerns about Russian influence in Slovakia, recalling recent accusations of a drone attack originating from Bratislava, Russian hacker incidents, and alleged pro‑Russian tendencies among senior security officials.
