Slovak Ministry of Interior partners with local governments on crime prevention

The Slovak Ministry of Interior has signed memorandums with the Association of Self-Governing Regions of Slovakia (SK8) and the Association of Towns and Villages of Slovakia (ZMOS) to strengthen crime prevention and regional security. The agreement, signed by State Secretary Michal Kaliňák, aims to create a more stable and inclusive environment through enhanced partnership.

The cooperation focuses on several key areas, including the mutual exchange of information and expertise regarding criminal activity, the identification of high-risk areas, and the development of preventive programs. Additionally, the partnership will support victim protection services and the implementation of educational and research activities to increase public safety awareness.

Special emphasis will be placed on disseminating prevention campaigns through local governments, specifically targeting schools and social service facilities. Kaliňák noted that local municipalities play an indispensable role in prevention due to their proximity to citizens and their understanding of regional needs.
