Slovak Ministry of Interior to build new 85 million euro center
The Slovak government has approved the construction of a new administrative center for the Ministry of Interior in Bratislava. Located on Pribinova Street, the project is estimated to cost over 85.3 million euros and is designed to accommodate between 1,018 and 1,350 employees.
In addition to the new construction, the ministry's existing headquarters will undergo reconstruction. The initiative aims to consolidate the ministry's operations, reducing the number of buildings used for administrative purposes from more than ten down to four. This reorganization is intended to improve cooperation between departments and reduce operational and transactional costs.
Funding for the project is planned to be sourced from the sale of surplus ministry-owned buildings, primarily located in Bratislava. The ministry has proposed that the proceeds from these sales be specifically earmarked within its budget for the construction of the new center.
