Slovak MP Grendel criticizes government over unfulfilled prosecution promises

Slovak MP Gábor Grendel of Hnutie Slovensko has criticized the current government, claiming it has failed to fulfill promises regarding the prosecution of former government officials. Grendel noted that despite rhetoric from Robert Fico (Smer-SD) about exposing past manipulations and prosecuting figures such as Igor Matoviča and Roman Mikulca, no significant actions have been taken against former officials in three years. He pointed out that the only person detained was influencer Daniel Bombica.

Grendel also addressed the upcoming state budget approval, suggesting that the focus may shift from austerity to significant spending as the election year approaches. He commented on remarks by Minister of Tourism and Sports Rudolf Huliak, who suggested the budget might not be approved if certain party demands are not met.
