Slovak MP Zuzana Mesterová alleges verbal abuse by political opponents

Zuzana Mesterová, a Member of Parliament for the Progressive Slovakia party, has reported instances of verbal aggression and threats from political opponents following television recordings.

Mesterová alleged that Tibor Gašpar of Smer-SD shouted at her in a studio, claiming innocence regarding the ‘Očistec’ case. Additionally, she reported a confrontation with Milan Uhrík of the Republika movement. Mesterová claimed that after cameras were turned off, Uhrík used derogatory language toward her and stated, ‘When we rule, we will deal with people like you.’

Commentary regarding the incident notes that while Uhrík's specific remark cannot be independently verified without audio, the statement highlights a broader political trend. Observers point to the increasing normalization of the Republika movement, which has formed electoral alliances with governing parties such as Smer, Hlas, and SNS in various regional and municipal elections.
