Slovak municipalities implement safety projects via regional grants
Several Slovak municipalities have implemented local development projects funded by regional grants.
In the village of Virt, a new camera surveillance system was established in September 2026. Supported by a €5,000 grant from the Nitra Self-Governing Region, the project installed six cameras at critical locations, including the municipal office, major intersections, the local park, and the amusement park. The system aims to enhance public safety and provide video evidence for evaluating critical situations.
In Krásna Ves, the “Aj my chceme pomáhať” (We Also Want to Help) project provided €1,400 in funding through the Trenčín Self-Governing Region to equip the local Volunteer Fire Department. The funds were used to purchase essential equipment, including various hoses, a portable hose bag, a specialized backpack with a nozzle and distributor, and gloves for forest fires. This equipment is intended to improve the department's ability to respond to grass and forest fires in the surrounding area.
