Slovak music achieves success on WMCE charts and at Bratislava festival

Two Slovak musical projects have entered the September 2026 World Music Charts Europe (WMCE) TOP 20. The album ‘Obrázky zo Slovenska’, a collaboration featuring Spectrum Quartett, Nogaband, Ulijanky, and Simona Hulejová, reached 4th place. The folk-rock album ‘Samoty’ by the duo Hmlisto secured the 16th position.

This achievement follows previous successes for Slovak artists in the charts, including Júlia Kozáková, who topped the WMCE in early 2026.

In conjunction with these musical developments, the 11th edition of the World Music Festival Bratislava is scheduled to take place from September 17 to September 20, 2026. The festival lineup features international performers such as Italian singer Maria Mazzotta, Armenian duduk player Arsen Petrosyan, and the South Korean duo Daaa Chan, alongside Slovak artists including Júlia Kozáková and the Slovak Radio Folk Instrument Orchestra.
