Slovak national teams prepare for football qualifiers and cycling world championships

The Slovak U21 national football team is preparing for the final stages of the European Championship qualifiers. Following a six-month break, the squad features several newcomers, including goalkeeper Sebastian Zajac. The team faces a critical schedule, starting with a home match against Ireland in Košice on September 25, followed by a match against England, and concluding against Andorra on October 6. Assistant coach Tibor Goljan emphasized the importance of every match in securing their progression.

In cycling, the Slovak national team is finalizing preparations for the World Road Cycling Championships in Montreal, Canada, held from September 20 to 27. Slovakia will have representatives in all road racing categories. Key athletes include Viktória Chladoňová and Sofia Ungerová in the women's U23 category, and Martin Svrček in the elite men's category. The course in Montreal is noted for its short circuit featuring steep climbs and technical descents.
