Slovak NHL players prepare for new seasons in Canada

Slovak NHL players Šimon Nemec and Juraj Slafkovský are preparing for their upcoming seasons in Canada.

Nemec, a 22-year-old defenseman, is transitioning to the Calgary Flames after three seasons with the New Jersey Devils. He expressed enthusiasm for the move, noting that the presence of fellow Slovaks Martin Pospíšil and Samuel Honzek in Calgary will aid his adaptation. Nemec anticipates increased ice time and a larger role within the Flames' roster.

Meanwhile, Juraj Slafkovský is entering his fifth season with the Montreal Canadiens. Having focused on increasing his strength and speed over the summer, the forward aims to achieve team success in the playoffs and reach personal milestones, including 300 games played, 100 goals, and 200 points. Slafkovský credited the development of his game to the support of director Adam Nicholas and head coach Martin St. Louis.
