Slovak hockey players perform well in NHL preseason

Slovak hockey players are showing strong performances during the NHL preseason. Samuel Honzek has stood out for the Calgary Flames, scoring a goal in a 3-1 victory against Vancouver. Despite a shoulder injury that sidelined him last season, Honzek has earned praise from coach Ryan Huska for his intelligence and forechecking abilities.

Martin Chromiak also found success, scoring a goal for the Los Angeles Kings in a 3-6 loss to Utah. Other Slovak players active in the preseason include defenseman Šimon Nemec for Calgary, Tomáš Královič for Tampa Bay, who recorded an assist, and Jakub Demek for Vegas.

Experts note that while established stars like Juraj Slafkovský continue to lead, young talents like Honzek and Chromiak are actively competing for roster spots as the new NHL season approaches.
