Slovak police urge caution to prevent water-related tragedies

The Slovak police have issued new safety guidelines after a series of fatal incidents on open water. They stress that water does not forgive mistakes and advise people not to jump into unknown water, to use flotation buoys when swimming in rivers or lakes, and to avoid alcohol as it impairs reaction ability and increases drowning risk. The police also emphasize supervising children at all times and being aware of sudden temperature changes that can cause shock.

These recommendations aim to reduce preventable drownings and encourage responsible behaviour around water.
