Slovak politicians debate Korčok's finances and radar procurement

Slovak political figures have engaged in a debate regarding financial practices by Ivan Korčok, Vice President of Progressive Slovakia. Minister of Labor Erik Tomáš accused Korčok of attempting to bypass social security contributions by receiving remuneration through his wife's company. Tomáš noted that official complaints have been filed with the National Labor Inspectorate, the Financial Administration, and the Prosecutor General's Office.

Marián Viskupič of SaS criticized the method of financing but suggested that the underlying issue is a systemic need for lower taxes and simpler rules to prevent such tax optimization.

The discussion also addressed a €30 million procurement of approximately 280 new radars and camera systems using Recovery Plan funds. While Minister Tomáš defended the Ministry of Interior's decision and noted that the National Security Authority (NBÚ) is reviewing the technology's origin, opposition members questioned the security risks regarding potential Russian technological ties and argued that funds should prioritize other national economic issues.
