Slovak Social Insurance Agency issues pension reminders

The Slovak Social Insurance Agency (Sociálna poisťovňa) has issued reminders regarding obligations for pension recipients. Seniors living outside the European Union, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland must submit a proof of life document to ensure uninterrupted pension payments. The deadline for submitting the third-quarter confirmation is October 15, 2026.

Regarding pension calculations, the agency clarified that the final year of employment is not lost during the retirement process. While the last year of work may not be counted as a standard year of insurance, it utilizes a general assessment base that influences the personal wage point and the final pension amount. The calculation follows strict legal guidelines based on the total period of social insurance and contributions paid.
