Slovakia to start paying seniors a 2% tax allocation from children’s earnings in August 2026
From August 2026 Slovakia’s Social Insurance (Sociálna poisťovňa) will begin disbursing a 2 % share of the tax paid by seniors’ children to eligible pensioners. The payment, called the tax‑allocation (asignácia dane), will be delivered in two waves: the first in August for children who filed their tax returns by 31 March, and the second in September for children whose returns were filed by 30 April.
Eligibility and the exact amount are determined solely by the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic. The Social Insurance office acts only as a technical executor, transferring the money and marking it with the text “2 percent of tax”. Recipients who receive a notice of non‑eligibility are advised to contact the Financial Directorate for an explanation.
