Slovak STVR appoints actor Marko Igonda as new voice for Jednota promos
Public broadcaster STVR announced the end of Matej Landl’s contract as the voice of program promos for its Jednota channel at the end of July. The change is part of a comprehensive visual and sound rebranding that will also see new station voices introduced for other channels.
Actor Marko Igonda, a 50‑year‑old performer from Žilina, began recording Jednota’s promotional spots in early August. STVR’s marketing director Jana Prágerová said the broadcaster sought a trusted, human voice to match the new identity. Landl, who will continue dubbing documentaries and foreign films, received a thank‑you letter from the station and hinted his departure may have been influenced by earlier critical remarks about management.
The overhaul will continue through September, with a new voice for the Dvojka channel slated for later in the year.
