Slovak Telekom upgrades optical internet and Magio TV services

Slovak Telekom is implementing significant upgrades to its digital services. Starting September 30, 2026, the company will launch a new generation of optical internet using XGS-PON technology. This expansion will offer download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbit/s to more than 1.1 million households, alongside Wi-Fi 7 support and improved mesh networking.

Simultaneously, the Magio TV streaming service is undergoing a major overhaul to mark its 20th anniversary. The update includes a modernized user interface featuring a vertical navigation menu, improved search capabilities by actor or genre, and a personalized ‘My List’ feature. New subscription tiers (M, L, XL, and XXL) will be introduced, alongside a premium ‘Sport Extra’ package and the option to purchase sports content for 24-hour access.

While these changes are rolling out in Slovakia, similar updates to the Magio TV platform are expected to reach the Czech market via T-Mobile in the near future.
