Slovak television shifts as new crime series targets Superstar ratings

Slovak television landscape is seeing shifts in programming and viewer reception. TV Joj has decided to adjust its Wednesday night schedule by launching the new crime series ‘Jednotka Jastrab’ to compete against the singing show ‘Superstar’. The series, starring Milan Ondrík, follows elite criminal police officers inspired by real-life cases.

This move follows poor ratings for Joj’s recent film releases and a historic decline in viewership for ‘Superstar’, which recently fell below a 5% rating.

Separately, the series ‘Sľub’ has sparked debate among viewers following the introduction of a new character, Dr. Inga Grendová. While some viewers appreciate her bold and modern personality within the 1986 setting, others have criticized her character as being overly assertive and out of place for the era.
