Slovak television updates: New seasons for baking and quiz shows

Slovak television programming is seeing updates to popular formats. The sixth season of the baking competition ‘Pečie celé Slovensko’ will feature four contestants from the Žilina region: Daniel Púček, Dušan Ujček, Marek Ďördík, and Simona Bartelová.

Daniel Púček, a 34-year-old catering professional and sports enthusiast from Žilina, is returning to the competition after previously attempting to join during the first season. His goal is to eventually open his own café and confectionery.

Additionally, the quiz show ‘5 proti 5’ has returned to STVR after a four-year hiatus. The new era, which launched on August 31, 2026, features Andy Kraus as the host, replacing Andreja Bičan. While the core format of two five-member teams guessing common Slovak opinions remains, the show has introduced a modernized studio, new visual elements, and a bonus musical round.
