Slovakia and Czechia propose social and tax adjustments for 2027

In Slovakia, preliminary calculations suggest that parental allowances may increase starting in January 2027. Based on adjustments to the living minimum, the monthly rate could reach 519.60 euros for those who previously received maternity benefits, or 379 euros for others. For multiple births, the base amount increases by 25 percent for each additional child.

In the Czech Republic, new legislation aims to provide tax relief for working students. Starting January 2027, students up to the age of 26 who are systematically preparing for a future profession may see a monthly tax reduction of up to 335 CZK. This benefit applies to those who actually pay income tax and can be claimed by employees through their employers or by entrepreneurs via tax returns.
