Roman Michelko rejects speculation on Slovak cabinet reshuffle

Slovak MP Roman Michelko (SNS) told the public broadcaster that he has received no offer to become culture minister and dismissed rumours of an autumn reshuffle of the government. He said there are no signals that ministers Martina Šimkovičová, Tomáš Taraba or finance minister Ladislav Kamenický will be replaced, and any talk of their moving to the Smer party list is "unfounded speculation." Michelko identified state secretary Filip Kuffa as the most likely successor to Taraba at the Environment Ministry, noting that the change is still scheduled for 30 September. KDH deputy Viliam Karas criticised the use of family members in senior state posts, pointing to the Kuffa father‑son duo as an example of potential conflict of interest. Both Michelko and Karas stressed the need for transparent and merit‑based appointments in public administration.
