Slovakia expands summer attractions at Malinô Brdo resort and Petržalka aquapark

The Malinô Brdo mountain resort near Ružomberok has extended its summer operating schedule. The cable‑car system will run daily from 09:00 to 18:00 (cabins) and 09:20 to 17:05 (seats), and the rental shop for bikes and scooters will be open from 10:00 to 17:30. A new mobile application, “Záhady lesa”, links outdoor movement with interactive forest discovery for families, and residents of Ružomberok continue to benefit from a discounted round‑trip fare of 6 EUR.

In Bratislava’s Petržalka district, a free summer aquapark on the Veľký Draždiak site opened in late June. Within the first five weeks it attracted about 18 500 visitors, primarily children aged 6‑15. The municipal government spent 180 000 EUR on inflatable water attractions, a purchase that has sparked political discussion ahead of upcoming local elections. Mayor Ján Hrčka says the project was his initiative and that the park will remain free for the public.
