Slovakia sees warm west, cooler east with rain on July 12
The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute warned that regional temperature differences will persist on Sunday, July 12. The western part of the country is expected to enjoy summer‑like warmth with daytime highs near 30 °C, while the north‑eastern and eastern regions will remain cooler and face intermittent rain, showers and occasional thunderstorms. At higher elevations in the High Tatras, the forecast even allows for isolated snow, an unusual mid‑summer event.
Similar patterns are forecast for neighbouring Hungary, where meteorologists predict mostly sunny conditions, temperatures between 28 °C and 32 °C and only isolated brief showers. The Czech Republic’s weather service also expects temperatures in the high‑20s to low‑30s °C with occasional thunderstorms developing from the northeast.
Across the three countries, the weather will be a mix of warm, dry spells in the west and cooler, wetter conditions in the east, affecting outdoor activities and agriculture on the day.
