Slovakia faces security concerns over new traffic cameras

The political party Progresívne Slovensko has raised serious suspicions regarding the origin of new traffic cameras installed by the Ministry of Interior, suggesting they may be of Russian origin.

Investigations into the procurement process reveal that the cameras were purchased from the company Soitron for nearly 200,000 EUR. The manufacturer listed on the certificate from the Slovak Metrology Institute is Sodasus, a company based in Cyprus. However, Sodasus is described as a shell company with no significant history, minimal web presence, or established personnel, and is reportedly managed by a firm specializing in company management services.

The Ministry of Interior has denied claims of suspicious origins, stating that the infrastructure is closed and inaccessible to third parties.
