Slovakia health insurance survey: Doctor availability is top priority

A survey conducted between September 7 and 13, 2026, involving 2,875 respondents, indicates that only 7 percent of people in Slovakia are considering changing their health insurance provider this year.

When selecting a health insurance provider, the most critical factor for 64 percent of respondents is the availability of doctors. This highlights the importance of patients being able to access necessary medical care and specialists within their living areas.

In response to these needs, providers like Dôvera are implementing services such as online clinics and remote consultations to improve accessibility. Other significant factors in consumer decision-making include financial benefits, such as reimbursement for medication costs, and the quality of digital applications.
