Slovakia hosts Uprising Festival and national commemorations

Slovakia is hosting several notable events on August 28 and 29. The 19th edition of the Uprising Festival is taking place at Zlaté piesky in Bratislava, featuring nearly 100 performances across seven stages. The lineup includes international acts such as the Cuban group Orishas, Gogol Bordello, Protoje & The Indiggnation, and Tikena Jah Fakoly, alongside electronic music legends like Andy C and Bou.

Other scheduled activities include the Kinobus 2026 film festival and various regional commemorations for the 82nd anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP). Additionally, a partial lunar eclipse will be visible from parts of Europe, Africa, and the Americas, including Slovakia.
