Slovakia maintains highway vignette prices for 2027

Slovakia is maintaining its current highway vignette prices for 2027. The 365-day electronic vignette will remain at 90.00 EUR, replacing the old calendar-year system. Other available options include a 30-day vignette for 17.10 EUR, a 10-day vignette for 10.80 EUR, and a 1-day vignette for 8.10 EUR. Notably, the 1-day vignette expires at 23:59:59 on the day of purchase rather than lasting a full 24 hours.

In comparison, neighboring Czechia utilizes an automatic inflation-based adjustment mechanism and is phasing out full exemptions for electric vehicles. Czech annual vignettes are priced at approximately 107 EUR.

Separately, the Public Defender of Rights, Róbert Dobrovodský, has issued a warning regarding administrative errors made by drivers when entering vehicle registration numbers or other identification data. Under legislation effective August 1, 2024, providing incorrect or incomplete information is considered a violation of the obligation to pay for the vignette. Drivers are urged to respond promptly to official notices to avoid escalating legal consequences and sanctions resulting from these errors.
