Slovakia mourns passing of industry leader and prominent physician
Slovakia marks the passing of two notable figures in the fields of industry and medicine.
Alexander Lilge has died at the age of 83. He was a long-time leader of Neografia, one of Slovakia’s largest printing companies with a 150-year tradition. Lilge joined the company in 1967 and served as its general manager starting in 1994. He is credited with introducing rotary offset printing for books to Slovakia in the late 1970s. Beyond his industrial contributions, Lilge was active in local politics, serving as a deputy and vice-mayor in Martin.
Dr. Oldřich Drahovzal, a prominent gynecologist and obstetrician, has also passed away at the age of 74. Having worked at the Liptovský Mikuláš hospital since 1977, he was a highly respected figure in the regional medical community. The mayor of Liptovský Mikuláš expressed deep grief over the unexpected death of the physician, who was also a personal friend and political collaborator.
