Slovakia police report drunk driving and numerous traffic violations
Police in Slovakia have reported significant traffic incidents and enforcement actions. In Bratislava, a 54-year-old driver caused damage to multiple vehicles on Bojnická Street after being asked to move his car. The driver, who tested positive for 2.81 per mille of alcohol, collided with a parked Škoda Octavia and subsequently used another vehicle to strike a traffic sign. Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the endangerment under the influence of a narcotic substance.
In the Košice Region, a seven-hour nationwide special inspection resulted in 195 recorded offenses. The most frequent violations involved speeding, followed by vehicles in poor technical condition and driver negligence, including mobile phone use while driving. During these checks, police conducted hundreds of breathalyzer tests, identifying alcohol consumption in both a driver and a cyclist.
