Slovakia defeats Kazakhstan 2-1 in Nations League clash

Slovakia secured a 2-1 victory against Kazakhstan in Košice, maintaining their lead at the top of Group 3 in the UEFA Nations League C-Division. Following an earlier 2-0 win against Moldova, the team now holds a perfect six points from two matches.

Leo Sauer opened the scoring for Slovakia, marking his first international goal in his 14th appearance. However, Kazakhstan managed to equalize during the match, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. The decisive goal came in the 82nd minute when Dávid Hancko scored with a header following a corner kick delivered by Ondrej Duda.

Slovak coach Vladimír Weiss praised the team's resilience and ability to remain patient despite the opponent's defensive block. Hancko was noted as the player of the match, while Weiss also highlighted the controlled minutes given to young talent Sauer to manage his recovery from injury. Captain Milan Škriniar emphasized the importance of the team not losing focus after conceding the equalizer.
