Slovakia rating confirmed at A by Standard & Poor’s

Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has confirmed Slovakia’s credit rating at A with a stable outlook. This decision follows the recent approval of the 2027 state budget, which includes a projected deficit of 4.94 percent.

The Ministry of Finance noted that the S&P rating remains one notch higher than the ratings assigned to Slovakia by Moody’s and Fitch. Officials stated that the rating reflects a safe financial policy and that the approved budget serves as a stabilizing element for the economy despite challenging global conditions.

Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenický characterized the rating confirmation as a rebuttal to criticisms made by the political opposition regarding the national budget. Following the budget approval, the government reported that investor demand for state bonds exceeded supply by more than twofold, with over 530 million euros in bonds sold.
