Slovakia reaffirms support for North Macedonia’s EU path

Bekim Sali, North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs, met with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar in Bratislava to discuss European integration and bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Slovakia reaffirmed its support for the European perspective of North Macedonia and the Western Balkans. Sali emphasized that North Macedonia remains committed to reforms and fulfilling obligations required for the accession process, noting the importance of a credible and merit-based path.

The discussions also covered the importance of good neighborly relations, specifically mentioning North Macedonia’s commitment to constructive dialogue with Bulgaria. Additionally, the officials addressed the integration of candidate countries into EU policies and the single market, the implementation of the Reform Agenda, and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
