Slovakia requests address updates for 120,000 energy assistance cases

The ministry is sending letters to affected individuals requesting this information to ensure state systems can correctly link people to their specific dwellings and energy consumption points.

Discrepancies often arise from inconsistent data across different state databases, such as the land registry and population registers. The ministry noted that even if a person's ID and residence are correct, mismatched address formats can prevent automated processing. The ministry has assured households that these discrepancies will not result in a loss of energy assistance, as the rules prioritize providing aid in cases of doubt. The requests aim to clarify data for future periods, and citizens are advised to provide the necessary details at their local municipal office by October 31, 2026.
