Slovak athletes qualify for European Athletics Championships in Birmingham

Thirteen Slovak athletes and two relay teams have secured places for the 27th European Athletics Championships, scheduled for 10–16 August in Birmingham, UK, according to the Slovak Athletics Federation. Emma Zapletalová met qualifying standards in three events but will concentrate on the 400 m hurdles, while Dominik Černý qualified for the marathon. Other qualifiers include Matej Baluch (400 m hurdles), Ján Volko (100 m), and Veronika Páleníková (women’s 400 m hurdles). A further half‑dozen athletes are close to the standards and could still add to the Slovak delegation.

The final entry list also confirms participation of the women’s 4 × 400 m and 4 × 100 m relay teams, opening the possibility of additional athletes being nominated before the championship.
