Slovakia slips to 33rd place in Wealth of Nations index

Slovakia fell to 33rd position out of 40 countries in the latest Wealth of Nations index compiled by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute with partner organisations. The ranking, which measures real household income by combining private‑sector performance and the quality of public services, shows a one‑rank decline from the previous year despite a modest increase in the overall score to 594 points.

The private‑sector score contributed 263 points, placing Slovakia 32nd among the 40 economies and highlighting a low ratio of private investment to consumption (34 per 100), one of the lowest in the table. In contrast, public‑service provision scored 331 points, giving a quality index of 0.71 and a 25th‑place ranking that outperforms neighbours such as Hungary and Poland. Compared with regional peers, Slovakia remains in the lower half of the index and its pace of improvement lags behind many Central European countries.
