Slovakia tax authority sets final June 30 2026 deadline for postponed 2025 returns

Slovakia’s Financial Administration has announced that taxpayers who postponed filing their 2025 tax returns must submit them no later than Tuesday 30 June 2026. The same date is the deadline for paying any tax due, and the law does not allow any further extensions.

More than 1.1 million returns have already been filed for the 2025 tax year, but over 336 thousand taxpayers who used the postponed filing option still need to comply by the final deadline. Of these, 17 209 individuals with foreign‑source income were allowed to extend their filing until 30 September 2026, provided the foreign earnings are reported correctly.

Taxpayers may request a payment deferral or an installment plan if they cannot meet the payment deadline, but such requests are evaluated case‑by‑case and are not automatic. The administration has extended its office hours and call‑centre operating times on the last day to assist filers.
