Slovakia thwarts arson attack on Skyeton drone factory

Slovak authorities have thwarted a planned arson attack targeting the Skyeton drone manufacturing plant in Haniska, near Prešov. The facility produces unmanned systems used by the Ukrainian military.

Police have detained four suspects in connection with the plot, including citizens of Ukraine and Latvia. One suspect was apprehended in Germany following a European arrest warrant. Investigators seized an incendiary mixture composed of gasoline and polystyrene, similar to napalm, along with tools and a handwritten attack plan.

Officials stated that the attack could have endangered approximately 70 employees and caused property damage worth tens of millions of euros. A group calling itself 'Global Citizens Against War 1984' claimed responsibility for the incident, though police noted that images released by the group appeared to be AI-generated.
