Slovakia: Two dead and one critically injured in three separate road accidents

Three serious traffic accidents occurred in Eastern Slovakia on a Saturday evening, resulting in two fatalities and one critical injury.

On the I/19 road between Dargov and Sečovce, a pedestrian was struck by an Opel. Emergency responders had to perform resuscitation on-site before transporting the individual to a hospital in Trebišov. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries that are expected to require more than 42 days of treatment. The driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

Shortly after, a collision occurred on the III/3699 road between Čierna nad Tisou and Malé Trakany. A Volkswagen struck a cyclist who was traveling in the same direction. The cyclist, who was reportedly not using reflective elements on their person or bicycle during low visibility, died at the scene. The driver also tested negative for alcohol.

A third fatal accident took place near Vyšný Hrušov on the III/3839 road, involving a collision between a car and a motorcycle. A 24-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene, while a 23-year-old passenger was transported to the hospital via helicopter.
