Europarliamentarian Judita Laššáková was announced by party leader and Slovak prime minister Robert Fico as the Smer‑SD candidate for the post of head of the Prešov Self‑Governed Region. The nomination was made at a press conference in Prešov, and Laššáková said she has changed her permanent residence to the region to be closer to voters.
