Slovakia's wealthiest individuals identified in new Forbes rankings
Recent Forbes rankings have highlighted the wealth of Slovakia's top billionaires, led by Jozef Tkáč, whose fortune is estimated at 3.57 billion euros. Tkáč, who began his career at the State Bank of Czechoslovakia, built his empire through long-term dividends and the sale of a 98.45 percent stake in 365.bank for over 700 million euros.
Peter Korbačka, the head of the real estate company JTRE, has also risen to become the seventh wealthiest Slovak with an estimated net worth of 1.2 billion euros. Korbačka's business interests have expanded into sports; his company JTRE is the 100 percent owner of the hockey club Slovan Bratislava, having acquired it following the death of Rudolf Hrubý. Under the Slovan brand, the group also manages basketball and volleyball teams, with ambitions to enter the Czech league.
Slovakia has seen a record number of millionaires this year, with seven individuals reaching top-tier wealth status, including Korbačka, Patrik Tkáč, Ivan Jakabovič, Tomáš Chrenek, Ivan Chrenko, and Jaroslav Haščák.
