Slovakia's workforce reports high job satisfaction, few seek new jobs

A survey by staffing agencies Grafton Recruitment and Gi Group found that a majority of Slovak employees are content with their work. Over half (57 %) of respondents expressed a positive feeling toward their jobs, and employers estimate overall employee satisfaction at 59 %. Satisfaction is highest among young workers in Generation Z, with 61 % reporting love or joy in their work and only 19 % feeling neutral. The service sector leads with 90 % of respondents indicating a positive relationship to their work, while qualified professionals in senior positions reported 63 % satisfaction.

Only a small share of the labour force is actively looking for new employment: 13 % are searching, another 27 % are exploring opportunities, and 44 % would consider a new role if a suitable offer arose. Meanwhile, 16 % are not seeking any change. Employers cited company expansion (41 %) and replacing departing staff (39 %) as the main reasons for hiring new workers this year.

The findings challenge stereotypes that younger workers are more likely to change jobs, showing that Generation Z is among the most settled and motivated when they perceive meaningful, fair, and growth‑oriented work environments.
