Slovan Bratislava beats Mjällby, advances in Champions League

Slovan Bratislava won their opening third‑qualifying round match of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League, defeating Swedish side Mjällby AIF 2‑1 at Strandvallen. Elliot Stroud opened the scoring from the penalty spot, Suleiman Camara – a new signing who arrived only 24 hours earlier – levelled the game, and Manasse Kianga secured the winner shortly after.

Coach and former international Yaya Touré praised the impact of the substitutes, noting that Camara’s goal and assist changed the match’s momentum.
