Slovan Bratislava defeats FC Nitra 3-1 in Slovnaft Cup

Slovan Bratislava advanced to the fourth round of the Slovnaft Cup after a 3-1 victory against third-division side FC Nitra. Despite the scoreline, the match was highly competitive, with Nitra holding the top-tier favorites to a draw until the 86th minute.

Tomáš Hambálek opened the scoring for Nitra in the 8th minute with a left-footed shot. Slovan Bratislava equalized in the 39th minute through Tigran Barseghjan. After a scoreless second half where Nitra hit the woodwork, Roman Čerepkaí scored the decisive goal for Slovan in the 86th minute, followed by a final goal by Yirajang in stoppage time.

The match drew 6,381 spectators. Former national team player Miroslav Stoch, who appeared as a substitute for Nitra, faced mixed reactions from the crowd, being cheered by home fans and jeered by the visiting supporters.
