Slovenia and Bosnia boost electric vehicle registrations and imports

In Slovenia, electric vehicle registrations surged in 2023. Eurostat data show 6,430 fully electric cars were registered, a 103.9% increase compared with the previous year, while plug‑in hybrid registrations also rose and diesel and gasoline registrations fell sharply.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, more than 45,000 cars were imported in the first half of 2023. A ministerial decision extending reduced customs duties on new electric, hybrid, CNG and LPG vehicles spurred a sharp rise in eco‑friendly imports: electric car arrivals grew from 100 to 178 units and hybrid imports increased to 2,250 units, with the most expensive electric vehicle being a Porsche Cayenne Electric.
