The Foundation for Financing Sports Organizations in the Republic of Slovenia has approved a record budget of 15.5 million euros for sports organizations next year, an increase of one million euros compared to the current year. The funding includes 8.9 million euros for sports programs, covering elite competitive sports, youth sports education, sports for all, and sports for persons with disabilities. Additionally, 3.72 million euros is allocated for the construction of sports facilities.
Alongside this budget increase, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, and the Foundation have announced a public call for sports scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. These scholarships target promising athletes between the ages of 15 and 26, as well as top-tier athletes in Olympic, world, or international categories. The initiative aims to provide financial support to help young athletes balance competitive sports with their education.
